Your Choices Can Change Your Community.
Make the choice to shop local and support locally-owned businesses. You can help make a difference in your community! Research shows that if you shift a portion of your spending from national chains and the Internet to independent locally-owned and operated businesses, you can have a dramatic effect on your local economy.
That’s because a significantly greater portion of the money you spend with local businesses stays in your community. This means more money for roads, schools, services and jobs. A small change in the way you shop can have a big impact on your community.
Keep the Cheer here and shop locally!
JUST A REMINDER
Time for New Year's Cleaning;
The Shredding Truck will return for RDP Member and Public Use on January 17th.
The Rutherford Downtown Partnership is beginning 2012 with another Shredding Day Service for its members. All RDP members can bring their boxes of papers to the area between the Kip Avenue Garage and the walk through to Park Avenue, between 12 noon and 2 p.m. on Tuesday January 17th, where Safe Shredding will have its truck for on-site easy shredding.
This service is free to businesses and property owners in the RDP district that are currently paid up on their feesThose who are not current may still use the service at a cost of $10 per archive box of paper, as can any Rutherford resident. There is no need to remove staples from papers in advance, but you must take your corrugated boxes back. If there continues to be adequate interest in maintaining this service, the RDP will schedule other periodic dates throughout 2012.
